My Neighbor Totoro

9.75 (excellent) Aww, who wouldn't know about the cuteness of Totoro? Who wouldn't want to be neighbors with such an adorable and helpful, not to mention fluffy creature? This movie has definitely captured my young spirit and I won't mind re-watching it. Totoro has also appeared in cameo roles not only in various Studio Ghibli movies but also in the likes of Toy Story 3, making him a well-loved anime character.

9.50 (excellent) It's one of the shoujo series that I really adore and will never forget. Obviously, there's the 'Usui' factor, but above all, I think this series is cute. I guess the lovesickness in me is coming out! It's quite funny how the romantic scenes, the humorous parts, were plotted. So now, I'm going to continue ogling at Takumi Usui, and laugh along with the Idiot Trio's antics.

9.50 (excellent) Tenipuri is probably one of the few series that most of the male characters, if not all, are considered bishounen. But I love Tenipuri not only because of its cool and handsome characters, but also because of the music and the values learned especially in relation to sports and sportsmanship, friendship, and even responsibility. For me, I learned a lot after watching this anime series. I do believe it highly influenced the good in me today, and always will.

Fullmetal Alchemist

9.50 (excellent) I enjoyed FMA: Brotherhood way even more, but Fullmetal Alchemist is still Fullmetal Alchemist anyway. The plot already caught my interest and I could well say that the animation didn't turn me down (but of course nothing beats the manga, as usual). There are lots of action-packed scenes, and the humor is just so... humorous. XD And I like the music/soundtrack as well.

9.50 (excellent) This is definitely one of my all-time favorites from Studio Ghibli. I love how friendly and interesting this movie is for all ages -- in terms of plot and even the well-drawn characters plus their personalities. While I wished for a second part and for a quite in-depth romance between Haku and Chihiro, I can still say that I really enjoyed the first time I watched it, and will always enjoy the magic it has portrayed.

9.50 (excellent) After watching this series, I immediately clamored for a second season [I do hope they're working on it now though, somehow]! You can tell the depth of the stories behind each character, and their distinct personalities contribute to Skip Beat's original storyline. I really enjoyed watching it!

9.50 (excellent) I'd have to give credit for this series because it piqued my interest in anime! I never got tired of watching it no matter how many times it re-airs. Every season got me sticking and wanting to know more on what would happen next. It's also amusing that it's fun to sing along with its opening theme and ending songs. YYH is definitely one of those all-time favorite anime series worth watching.

Itazura na Kiss

9.50 (excellent) It is a shoujo series I loved as it thrived its great and beautiful storyline in its simplicity. I loved how the very different personalities of main characters Kotoko and Naoki compromised with each other as the story progresses. It's really touching, humorous, and yes, romantic. The series has also shown factors in life we actually contemplate everyday that's why almost everyone can relate to it, like lovelife, school, etc..

Heart no Kuni no Alice

Last Updated: Oct 09, 2011

9.50 (excellent) Enjoyable series all in all -- from the plot, to the unique characters and style. Quite a reverse harem, too, so it piqued my interest even more. So, another Alice in Wonderland story and remake? Well sure, it does have lots of similarities with the original version (Lewis Carroll) especially in plot and characters, but of course there are differences in plot and there are also invented characters, so it's not really as boring as one would think. Plus, there are hints of romance, which makes this even more exciting.

9.25 (very good) Surprisingly enough, this series entertained me and caught my interest -- from the colorful personality of each character, to the randomness of every episode. It's worth watching especially for those looking for humor.

Chobits

Last Updated: Apr 05, 2011

9.25 (very good) CLAMP has done a wonderfully charming job with Chobits! While the drama and romance sure is there, I also appreciate the humor in it, and of course even the music; it just blends well altogether. It's one of those series that'll give a lighthearted feeling after watching it!

Maria-sama ga Miteru

Last Updated: Jul 14, 2010

9.25 (very good) Now here's a series I don't see everyday; such a rare-themed anime. Religion? Girls? Shoujo-ai/Yuri content? Virgin Mary? MariMite is one of my unforgettable series, probably because I can somewhat relate to it -- particularly the fact that I've experienced studying in an all-girls Catholic school. The Soeur system, the use of French terms especially for the flowers of the Lillian Jogakuen's student council (Yamayurikai) -- I believe they all add up to MariMite's subtleness and uniqueness as an anime series. The music -- soundtrack plus the background music and such, are soothing to the ears. The characters are also well-drawn, and the conflict between the characters and the characters themselves get the story going. The MariMite DVD specials showed a funny side to the story, too.

Bleach

9.25 (very good) It would be highly impossible if an anime fan has never come across or even heard of such an epic anime series. And by epic, I meant it's one of the few successful anime series that's been airing for more than three years or so. But personally, BLEACH is one of my favorite series, and it still is. Like most fans, I just have an issue regarding the filler arcs. It would have been nicer if they got rid of fillers to maintain the suspense/action. That issue aside, BLEACH has lots of memorable characters. I intend to finish it and continue the fight with Ichigo and his friends until the end. So far, I'm still enjoying BLEACH as it is.

Kiniro no Corda

Last Updated: Apr 03, 2011

9.25 (very good) La Corda d'Oro probably has these factors as its selling points: reverse harem, cute and pretty guys, and wonderful compilation of classical music. While I think that the fact that Kahoko did not end up with any of the pretty boys in the anime series is quite a plus, the second season was pretty much a bum, in my humble opinion. The second season could have added more episodes and just partly focused on how life went for the characters after the concours. Art-wise, it's colorful, very decent, and well-drawn.

Paradise Kiss

Last Updated: Apr 05, 2011

9.25 (very good) After watching ParaKiss, I was like, "Cliffhanger! Second season please!". But don't get me wrong, this series really did entertain me -- from the catchy opening and ending songs, to the exquisite-looking clothes, to wonderfully colorful characters, and the original art. The ending was quite disappointing, but on second thought, maybe that's just how it is in life sometimes -- it can be as vague as the ending.

Princess Tutu

Last Updated: Apr 05, 2011

9.25 (very good) An anime where showcasing of elegance is at its finest -- from the whole story, characters plus the conflict among them; music, dance... everything. Although the mishaps were inevitable and not to mention devastating, I just wished the ending could have given a speck of optimism, though the series' 'melancholic elegance' theme is something worth taking note of.

Magic Knight Rayearth

Last Updated: Apr 06, 2011

9.25 (very good) MKR is one of my many childhood anime series, and until now I can't stop adoring the three Magic Knights; their beauty is just so effervescent. They've brought some light about girls being able to handle and work alongside Mecha. Overall, I really liked the story and I was left wanting for more action and yes, romance!

Gakuen Alice

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Jul 01, 2011

9.25 (very good) The concept of people (especially youngsters) having an Alice, or powers in the usual term, is really exciting. It's like watching the characters explore the depth of each one's unique alice make you go back to those fantasies you've had as a child, having superpowers and all. Plot-wise and art-wise, Gakuen Alice really piqued my interest, especially the fact that the transition of events went pretty smoothly yet mysteriously, too. However, I'm clamoring for a second season, hoping that would somehow justify the excitement contained in the manga. Still, this series is worth watching.

Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi

Last Updated: Jul 03, 2011

9.25 (very good) Cheers for another shounen-ai series, and not to mention from the same manga-ka of Junjou Romantica, too, which I also adore. Basically, Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi has the same three couples/plots, but this time all characters are centered towards manga writing and yes, even marketing manga. I thought this was more realistic, more in-depth, and had a better plot line; so I'm really hoping for a second season!

Five Centimeters Per Second

Last Updated: Apr 04, 2011

9.00 (very good) A breathtakingly beautiful art and storyline. So far, this is one of the few movies that got my tears flowing, as I realized how sad the story went yet they actually happen in real life. And just like the rather vague ending, there are some things in life that don't have definite answers, but instead you'll find yourself asking more questions. So if you're a sucker for emo-ish romance-themed movies, this is worth a try.

Kimi ni Todoke

Last Updated: Jul 14, 2010

9.00 (very good) At first, I really thought the plot was clean and simple -- typical of most, if not all shoujo mangas. It was pretty decent and I did enjoy the whole series. I just wished there were more episodes.. or maybe all I wanted was more scenes of KazehayaxSawako and other potential couples like RyuxChizuru? But all in all, I liked its 'cleanliness', and it was probably one of the few series that actually yet surprisingly made me cry.

Jigoku Shoujo

Seen: completely; Own: partially;

Last Updated: Jul 22, 2010

9.00 (very good) So, who here wants to know the hotline to hell? For me, I definitely don't. Or perhaps I would only want to call hell if I wanted to talk to the Hell Girl herself just to tell her I think she's a cool and reserved character... or rather, I'd love to have a talk to Ren Ichimoku instead *what a bishounen he is!* simply to tell him that I'm in love with him *dream on*. Anyways, it's nice that I watched the whole three seasons of it, from simply Jigoku Shoujo to Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori, then finally to Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae. It just kept getting better, and I thought they were quite consistent with the hell issue. I suppose the plot kind of fell during the middle of every season.

It was also nice that the series portrayed certain depictions of daily human life especially when you see that there are different characters and struggles for every episode. I think the music seemed decent enough, too.

In the end, I thought that my smile and kindness should be my best revenge for anyone who hurt/provoke me. *wink*

Junjou Romantica

Last Updated: Jul 03, 2011

9.00 (very good) This is one of the many yaoi series I grew to love so much! I suppose many of us agree that we truly adore the second couple -- HirokixNowaki; this couple is partly the reason I can't resist watching Junjou Romantica all over again. I just wished each couple's stories could have developed more, as I strongly believed this yaoi/shounen-ai series had so much potential.

Miracle Girls

Last Updated: Apr 03, 2011

9.00 (very good) Miracle Girls, or more commonly known as Magic Girls when it first aired in our country (Philippines), is one of the anime series I've ever watched and got myself hooked into the magical world of anime. It all comes together -- from the twins' discovered magical powers, to their personal lives and love lives, and outside conflict. I've just watched it again a few days ago and realized I still adore Mikage (because she was my inspiration for my long hair) and her cute love story with her senpai. It's a fairly decent yet likable anime, especially for mahou shoujo lovers like me out there.

Toradora!

Last Updated: Apr 05, 2011

9.00 (very good) I pretty much enjoyed every episode, especially seeing it's not your everyday type of shoujo series! It's nice watching how Takasu Ryuuji and Aisaka Taiga developed romantic feelings for each other as the story continues. All in all, I really liked Toradora.

Kyou Koi wo Hajimemasu

9.00 (very good) Before you watch the OVA and ask yourself "When and how did this happen!?", it's best if one has read the manga first, of course. Anyhow, I really learned to love and relate with the Tsubaki couple, plus their everyday issues not only in their relationship but also on life as a whole. I was drawn to it as I saw through a lot from their experiences, whether insecurities, and even affection. It's quite a heartwarming story; as one would expect from a shoujo manga.

8.75 (very good) While I can't help but wonder why kindergartners like Utako and Nagisa already have love interests at such a very young age [in Akira and Suoh, respectively], this cute and child-friendly show got me amused and entertained. The existence of the student council with Nokoru's lead plus Suoh and Akira, to help damsels in distress is the very essence of CCD as they solve mysteries no matter how small or big the cases are. CCD can pique your interest especially if you have a knack for solving mysteries, and worth watching for a 26-episode series. Another cute and decent work from CLAMP!

Kanokon

Last Updated: Apr 04, 2011

8.50 (very good) I'm not really a fan of watching ecchi, but I can still say Kanokon was quite an entertaining series. The 'love' between Chizuru and Kouta is something one can find charming, and you might want to see how their relationship progresses throughout every episode.

Flame of Recca

Last Updated: Apr 03, 2011

8.50 (very good) Recca no Honoo is one of the first few anime series I've ever watched as a kid, and it didn't fail to entertain me no matter how many times I've re-watched it. All characters' personalities become transparent as the story progresses, and they get to improve too through their battles and struggles. There's also humor for a segue in almost every episode. Anyhow, I liked it and appreciated the entertainment it has brought.
